The Friends of Chatham Traction are able to offer photos from the Jack Turley collection through an arrangement with Dinnages Transport Publishing. This sample (ref BW0837) shows a line-up of Bristol K5Gs at Luton Depot in July 1948, exhibiting three different body styles.
The late Jack Turley (1916 – 2003) was an avid railway & general transport enthusiast and a member of the Southern Counties Touring Society. From 1936 through WWII to just after the turn of the century he captured many views of trams, trolleybuses, buses, light rail & railway subjects. The 'JACK TURLEY' collection now resides with Dinnages, who produce transport photographs, postcards, & nostalgic views from a library of negatives and slides.
These photos were taken over four visits to the Medway Towns, in July 48 (featuring GKE 83), April 49 (GKE 93), August 1951 (GKR 750) and September 1955.
