Volunteer Opportunities – Room Inside!
Restoration of the bus will be completed mid 2019, with a public launch in the summer. To allow fulfilment of its educational and community purposes the bus will be fitted out to attract a wide range of audiences, from schoolchildren, through local inter-generational families to heritage transport specialists. It will be available as a classroom, a mobile cinema or meeting room as well as being visible and usable as a heritage vehicle.
A 5-year Business Plan is in place to direct the development of these activities as The Medway Heritage Bus project, and so assure the long term preservation of the vehicle and the future ambitions of The Friends of Chatham Traction.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals in a number of areas to join us in this exciting phase. In particular a “Marketing and Communications Officer”, an “Education Officer” and a “Finance Officer”. These are unpaid roles and can be carried out as a co-opted officer to the executive committee, with possible appointment as a Trustee in the future. Details of these roles can be found by clicking the links. For more information contact:
